I'm a 2nd year newbie and have a question.
My setup includes having a tubing spile going into a hanging bucket. I tapped the spile with the tubing higher than the bucket and off to the side so that the tubing can slide into the bucket. So basically 2 taps in 1 tree.
My question is this: If my bucket fills up quickly and my tubing ends up sitting in sap, will the tree "suck" that sap right back up?
I've got buckets right now that are almost in that situation because sap was running all night. But I don't want to go out right now because the winds are pretty strong right now & branches are coming down left right & centre.
But I also don't want the trees to have a free drink on me. :D
