I was stringing my 5/16" mainline today (not that easy without a second person, bit of a learning curve!) and then decided to put in one tap just to see. Nothing at all. I am new to tapping, so I'm not sure if I'm correct in that if sap was flowing it would start flowing immediately? Well, nothing for the first hour or so, I will check again in a few days. I should point out that my trees are on a very steep north facing hill, so I am guessing we will be behind schedule by a couple of weeks compared to other sites.
