View Full Version : half pint
Does anyone make a drop flue or raised flue pan for a 24X33 half pint evaporator?

Leader makes a 3' drop flue pan. If you could modify your arch a little to make it fit, I bet you could boil off 20gph. Always wondered why someone didn't try it. Wouldn't be able to boil the sap all the way to syrup and would have to cook a little on a stove or finisher, but it would rock! :D

you think maybe a raised flue on a half pint would work ?? then you could drain it.

Should work fine as long as you put the wall in the center of the 1/2 pint up to the bottom of the flues. Might need more than 6" stack, but if you put a blower in the draft door, it wouldn't matter.

I was speaking with someone at Leader yesterday and they have never made anything other than a flat bottom pan for the half pint. I think he was looking at me as if I was nuts.
"get a bigger unit" he said.
PS see my post under evaporators for the mods I just did to the grate that made big difference in performance.
