Well I got 12 1/2 gallons yesterday and expecting the same today and tomorrow and boiling starting Friday eve.... If the sap keeps flowing the same that means I'll have 45 1/2 gallons to boil this weekend!

I never thought I'd get this much but I am really liking this and next year I'm gonna expand and hopefully have a nice Sugar Shack overlooking my pond! And an evaporator...and about 40 more taps...

;)

Sounds like you've been bit bad! Last year we had about 11 taps, this year we have 14 or 15, and will add some more as soon as we get more buckets... Have fun this weekend! Our sap didn't run this week, so we'll probably be tinkering with our evaporator instead of boiling down.

Hey Don:

I have my Turkey Fryer going on the deck. LOL. I was putting in more taps today and saw sap was running, real slow , but running. I collect about 8-9 gallons so I figured I would boil it. I did not have enough sap for my wood fired arch so I got out the turkey fryer to remind me of old times !!

Hope your batch turns out excellent tonight !!

Later.

Terry

I figured out how to build a better mouse trap... I put a deposit on a Leader Half Pint! At 9am when they opened... LOL

Now if I can just figure out how to get my wife to realize I am crappy when I'm tired and not to do "cute" little thinks like pinch my nose!

Love the cookie !! Great Karma for sure.

My guess is your sleeping right now, but so hope to see pics of the bottled product.

I did mine last night, ended up with one little jar, but oh so good.

Looking forward to hearing how much syrup you got.

Later....

Great job Don. No doubt about it, you are hooked bad. Are you sure that half pint will be big enough? You will have many more taps next year!
