preheater on Half Pint

During y first 2 boils on our new Leader Half Pint in notice a large amount of condensation on the preheater pan. Both sides as deep as the sap was, and the bottom and all constantly dripping back into the sap.

Seems kinda counter productive. Has anyone tried to raise and or tilt it so it drips outside the boiling pan ???

If you could make a little pan to hang below it and catch the condensation would be the trick. The condensation pan shouldn't drip any as the steam would keep it hot. What happens it that the preheater pan has all the cold sap in it causing condensation. :)
