I'm finding a huge difference in taps I've placed on the south side of a tree vs. those on the north side of the same tree. I usually have 2 (sometimes 3) times as much sap in the tap on the southern side of the tree.
I would expect trees with southerly exposure to do better than ones without, but I was surprised to see such a difference on the same tree.
Guess I'll have to put my taps on the same side of the tree next year.
