arch insulation

has anyone ever used 1" claremat 1200 to insulate an arch. just wondering if a 1200 degree rating is high enough,

Alaska? Where in AK are you? We moved to Vermont from Seward 7 years ago and I didn't see too many maples on the Kenai!
