Did everything like I usually do, filtered hot, etc. Looked at jars this morning and they are full of flat, whitish precipitate. Some suspended in syrup, about half inch on bottom of jars. Never had this issue before. ? :(

Morning William. Filters were brand new but I guess that doesnt mean there couldnt have been a hole.

John, I'm having the same issue--slight cloudiness. I'm doing everying right--same as last year. Can't figure it out. Let me know if you do.

I ordered new cone filter today just to rule that out. I wonder if it is an issue with early syrup.

It's all about temperature. You have to filter and bottle hot (approx. 185), but not at boiling temps. If your syrup is too hot you'll precipitate more niter out of it in the jar even though you've filtered it.

C. Wilcox thanks for reply. I may have filtered a bit too hot. Dang it! Will reheat, filter and rebottle today.

I pulled my first gallon off yesterday and filtered as always...... Same thing. It almost looks like a suspended lipid or fat. It all settled out this morning except for a little. Did you find anything out yet?
