Good Morning Eveyone :54935494

I bought a few of these filters from my local TSC.

No laughing, but I don,t know if they are for syrup or sap?? I forgot to ask, they were with all the maple syrup supplies.

They are made of some sort of synthetic material, not cotton.

I am pretty sure it is a prefilter, but for what sap or syrup?

I hope the pics can help show what they are.

Thank-you.

Terry

I use mine for both. For sap it just fits into a two-gallon plastic bucket I've drilled holes in the bottom of. I sit the bucket in a piece of plywood with a hole in the middle and then rest the plywood on top of my storage barrel. I clip the edges of the filter to the side of the bucket and pour full speed into the filter. It gets all of the bugs, bark, etc. out and I just rinse it out in hot water each night.

You can also use it for syrup. Nest 3-4 of them inside an orlon or wool cone filter and hook that inside a bucket or pail under your draw off. You'll have crystal clear syrup.

I bought about a dozen of them a couple years ago, but I'm still using the first 5 or 6 I put into service. They are practically indestructible.
