hey all
I have a question my sap seemed a but on the yellow side today, usually it clear. does that mean something? I let it collect in the buckets for two days, since it wasn't above 40 the past couple days.
thanks

I tapped last weekend and i am up in Maine and i am getting the same thing some trees are clear sap and some have a yellow tint and i have ice in mine so i don't think the sap went bad i think it may just be the tree hopefully it is OK to boil?Again maybe some of the old sappers will have a answer ?

I also get yellow sap from time to time. Sometimes you will get yellow sap out of one bucket and clear sap out of another on the same tree. Not sure why, but I usually dump the yellow sap because I think it drops the grade. It does not necessarily signify the end of the season.
