Oh Boy! There's a Sugar Shack Section!

If anyone's been reading the tapping in Michigan Section I'm tapping this year for the first time and with only 3 taps and the past 3 days I have 7 gallons and will Probally have 4 more if it flows all night tonight like it did last night!

I'm getting addicted! I'm going to be boiling in my garage on my wood stove in a 20 x 12 S.S. pan this weekend. But I have a lot more maple trees and next year I want to tap them all and have a sugar shack built!

I'm thinking since I always wanted to build a log cabin I am gonna cut my own logs and try and build my sugar shack with logs by hand. Anyone here do this?

It's a good summer project for after I get the Deer Food Plot Planted and the 225 Norway Spuce and now I am going to plant some more maples too!

Looks like another one is sick with maple fever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For me it started 6 yrs ago with 66 taps. today we are 1400 looking to be at 2000 with 1400 on high vac next yr. An evap 5 yrs ago,a sugarhouse 3yrs ago, now an Ro for this yr various tanks,pumps and trucks along the way. Be very carfull with this addition find a support group now.
