Soldering on the flue seam?

Just bought a 30" x 8' Leader set of pans. The drop flue is made of soldered tin. I have patched a pile of holes with good success so far but can not seem to get a large hole that is directly under the fill pipe leading to the baffle. Just not enough room to fit the iron under to get solder where needed. Contemplating cutting the pipe out and trying to find a patch to slide over it. Any thoughts?

You might try one of those micro butane torches,pinpoint flame .Be careful! But these things don't throw alot of heat over a big area.Good luck
