I am putting in a ramp in my fuel barrel evaporator. I realize insulation and firebrick would be best but I have some real heavy iron. I have some used iron out of a track hoe that we scrapped out that is real thick like 3/8 to 3/4 in thick and I was thinking that it was thick enough that it wouldnt lose heat very fast and if I used it for the ramp and the flat part I could get by real cheap. Any thoughts on this. Harold
