I know time will tell but just something to talk about. Will sap flow better on a sunny 32 degree day or a cloudy 40 degree day.....jim

Depends if the wind is blowing or not.

Probably impossible to answer because there are too many variables that aren't being taken into account like night temps, barometric pressure and probably internal tree temps as well.

Another question that has always plagued me, if I'm in the forest collecting sap and I speak without my wife there, am I still wrong?;)

If you're a married you're a very responsible person....if something goes wrong, you're responsible.

The answer is check the containers on both of those days, you may find sap. Just when you think it shouldn't be running it will fool you.
