For you guys that are using t-stats to turn the vac pumps on and off. Where are you locating the probe? At first I had it out in the open and was worried that the sun was making "feel" a false high. So then I put it in a open bottom box but now I think the heat from the pump inside is warming it thru the wire hole. Tonite, when the sun went down and it started to cool off my t-stat was still reading 35 and it hadn't been 35 for hours! Any and all help would be appreciated.

I've got a thermocouple hanging outside the sugarhouse but it is reading high from the heat coming off the steel siding. One of the things I plan to do is build a Stevensen (sp?) screen. This gets you a more true reading because the sun and precipitation don't affect it.
