Does anyone know the specs for a Alamo 40 ? How much CFM ? The decal on the reclaimer says 6 drips per minute the man at Hamby says 2 , who is right. Do you shut of the drippers during your off season? My drippers are aftermarket and are adjustable.

For the vac levels we want, use 6 or more. You can shut off in off seson but be sure not to forget to open again.

Thanks for the info. Do you happen to know how many CFM this pump can produce? I have been told 40 by 1 place and 20 by another. I will set the pump up on 6 drips per minute. I suppose the only way to find out the oil use is to run it and see. I have installed a filter system on the reclaimer to see if it helps stop varnishing over of the vanes. I just had the motor and vacuum pump rebuilt and was told these pumps are very long lived if properly serviced, it just has been a nightmare trying to get info on them. Thanks again

If the pump head is turning at design speed and the vanes are good, it will produce 40 cfm @ 15" vac. If you are going higher you lose CFM. I have a Alamo 30 and a Alamo 75 and I keep my vac at 18", max 20. The higher vac creates heat and the fewer resulting CFM has less cooling ability. Just watch the head temperature. A drop of water will dance if it is too hot, if rain water sits in the cooling fins near the vac inlet tube it is not too hot.
I had to change a set of vanes on my 30 yesterday, vanes=$213.20 /set of 4, real shocker.

Thanks , I have been trying to find out for 2 weeks about this pump . The shop has already delivered the surge 1.65 motor back and I am hoping to have the vacuum pump back first of the week. That info will help me in my planning.
