I bought a syrup hydrometer and cup (8 inch cup) from Bill Mason. I now want a sap hydrometer. Can I use the same cup or do I need to buy a new one?

Use away, any container deep enough for the hydrometer will work fine.

As long as the sap and syrup hydrometers are the same length then you should be able to use the same cup. But if the syrup hydrometer is longer then you'll need a deeper cup.

LOL - Sure You can - Could you imagine if you tested Maple Syrup and forgot to clean the cup and the next day check the sugar content of sap in the same unwashed cup -------- WOW! My Sap is checking 15% Sugar.........lol.....sounds like something I might do. Just like everyone else has already advised you - go ahead and use it.

I've done that, I was excited until I noticed every time I refill the cup the sugar content dropped.
