Does the sap normally run faster if it rain or if the sun is out? I heard that it is better because of the pressure difference when it is raining being lower outside, allowing the sap to flow out of the tree?

yes you can get better sap runs during the rain due to pressure. that is if its warm enough. it needs to be a few degrees warmer because there is no sun to warm everything.
