Check out the Cornell maple web site. They have a spreadsheet set up that calculates the price per gallon of sap based on the expected bulk price of syrup by color grade, the sugar percent of the sap, and the percentage of the syrup that you wish to pay the sap supplier with. A very common thing is to do a 50% split on the syrup produced. The spreadsheet is set up to download and they have an example to look at.
