What is the difference in mortor

I just finished bricking my 30-10 Leader, When I went to buy the brick mortor my local supplier had no bags left of the Firestop. The only other bags he had in stock were $90.00. This was a shocker considering the firestop is only $15.30 a bag. Is the other stuff that much better?:confused:

what is the label on the more expensive bag? some sort of high temp refractory cement?

I went back and purchased the fire stop, in the bucket and a 50lb bag (just to be sure). The $90.00 bag, was a really highly priced high heat refractory morter, like you said, and for the life of me I can't remember the name. I will be mudding it this weekend. I have read many of the posts on this site, to find the best way for me to build everything in my sap shack thus far. We are truely blessed!!
