My buckets been froze up since Monday.....not seeing a warm up till sometime next week......so far I'm at 20 ounces of finished syrup out of the 12 gallons of sap I've collected so far...got me hydrometer the other day..pretty accurate lil instrument..beats the heck out of a candy thermometer...but I still use the thermometer to get it close :P

Experimental year #2...I need to invest in a decent evaporator the 2 12x20 hotel pans on an old 4 burner stovetop just isn't cutting it....havee u been doing any good?

Sap has been flowing real slow so after two three hour boiling sessions still have not been able to draw off. Who would have thought feb in ct would not be getting cold enough at night!

I hear that...I've shoveled snow twice so far this winter and didn't really need to..............no sap for me to collect today must of not got warm enough......finished 42 gallons today ended up with 76 ounces bottled......i guess my sugar content is more like 80 to 1.......still not sure if im tapping sugars or norways...

Awesome!!....I'm thinking I may pull taps this weekend...suppose to reach almost 70s next week here...plus I think I've had enough gatherting boiling finishing bottling this year.
