I do not understand how trees that are within 80 ft of each other can have such a difference. One of our yards did great and the other had nothing. I don't understand how that can be. I have both metal buckets and checks at both places??????????

Just use small bills, nothing large- that raises eyebrows.
Yeah, its aggravating when you don't see any sap, but its normal. I put up lots of buckets and many times a tree will be running good and the one next to it has next to nothing in it! Give it some time, they'll come around.

Ok, seriously - me neither. I guess that's the beauty of it all. No two seasons are the same. No two runs are the same. No two trees are the same. Just way too many influences and variables in play - altitude, aspect, drainage, etc, etc. I know that doesn't help any, but I've been in the same boat.
