Hello All,
First post, Dad and I will have about 20 taps in by sunday. Some are up and running now. 2nd year, after work just for fun. Used propane last year, $$$ :) Dad is going to modify our barrel stove for this year. We use an 18x48 stainless pan. Made 3-4 gallon last year.

Welcome to Maple Trader Cameron670. I know what you mean about propane ($$$) but I like the fact that I can turn it off anytime and just walk away without worrying about burning anything left in the pans. Sounds like you and Dad are having a great time. Enjoy your time together and have a great season.

Ok, we have 30 or so taps in. 200 gal. head tank, sap pump, and a barrel in each truck. There are actually 4 other small-scale setups in our county. I would tap more trees,
but I want to get our evap. rate up first. right now its a whopping 10 gallons/hr. !!! Still an improvement over propane though.
