Tapped on the Jersey Shore

Tapped a tree last night as a test. Been warm all winter and the tree only produced a few oz of sap. Going be a odd year I think.

I have three red maples in my yard that I tape 3 days ago and haven't got a drop......first timer to so the anticipation is killing me.....if I get these three trees running sap I plan on taping another 7 random trees that I find on the roadside.....I am calling it my stealth sugar bush.

Funny, no snokie around here in Monmouth Beach, thats all Seaside Heights, completely different world. Tapped 10 trees, 4 sugar's and 6 whites. We will see how it goes.
