Tapped the Silver Maple in the front yard on January 22nd.

Pulled 2 bags full, and decided it's Game On, have 40 bags on as of yesterday, will put another 20 on by the end of today.

Will probably put out just the 125 taps I have on hand again this year, as I can hardly keep up with the hauling and boiling as it is.

I sent emails to both of the only other producers in Kansas, don't believe they've started in, yet.

That's so cool! I always wonder how much sap would come from the maples in Kansas, when I visit the inlaws in Inman. What part are you located in?

I'm up in the NE corner, on a Reservation. The only maples big enough to tap in this part of the world are silver maples along the creeks and rivers. Everything else is a shade tree in someone's front yard.

Started tapping 2015 on January 25th, sap drooling out around the bit on the first 20 holes in the afternoon sun.

Winter came back with a vengeance, but have a gallon of syrup so far, and another 80 taps to put out.
