Silvers?

I have a bunch of silvers all around my area along the Susquhanna river. They are all big and fairly easy to get to. What are your thoughts on tapping these, I have heard many differing stories on this site, but I wanted to see what everyone thought about here in Pa.

Got for it. I tap silvers every year and they produce well. In my experience it's red maples that tend to not run very well. Some of the other folks here that use vaccuum tap reds and get great results, but I never had any luck with them using my buckets.

The majority of what I tapped are silvers. They worked out well for me. I think the sap averaged around 1.7%. I didn't test it last year, but it took around 48-50 gals to make a gallon. Bought a hydrometer for this year and will check the sap collected.
