I've been reading alot about blowers on evaps. Would just a small table top fan blowing into the "air intake" on a cement block arch help? If it raised the boil rate at all it would be worth it to me. What do you think?

I used a "table top" fan in my ash pan last year, I am thinking it would do wonders for your situation tbear. Really gets things crankin'

It will help. If you can find a squirrel cage it will work alot better.

I just bought a 265CFM squirrel cage. Having a plenum built for it as we peak for AUF. Should be slick. Also got a rheostat for it.

If you want to go cheeeep on blowers, head down to the goodwill/salvation army/junk shop/tag sale and pick up a hair dryer. It's a small version of a squirrel cage, and will blow against resistance better than an axial fan will.

Or go to the junk yard and pick up an air injection blower (AKA emissions pump) from a car. Quieter.

And you don't need a rheostat on a squirrel cage. Put a damper on the intake. Or a piece of cardboard, but 2 minutes with tin snips and an old can will make a snazzier job of it.

I made a blower set up for this year with a pool heater blower and my rheostat is a dimer switch (the one with a knob) work mint.
