I have 450 taps on a gravity feed tubing system I put in last year. It worked ok but I am now thinking vacuum would aid tremendously. I viewed a set up in rudyard last summer but that was a massive operation wondering what would work well in my situation. I have power at my sugar bush single phase and wonder what pumps work well and what type of releaser would be best and any other advice one could offer. I am doing research and have talked to dealers but want the real world logic. Thank you for you advice Mark W

Check on Leader's homepage, I believe they sell a 3/4 hp electric pump designed for 1,000 taps or less (37x21x37). As you probably found out, the pumps sold are primarily designed for 1,000+ to 10,000 taps.

The system I have qouted in a 8CFM 3/4 hP pump with a double mech releaser and a termostat to autostart while I am at work. It does not included the extra line I need to hook the system up but that will be less than $400 I have 450 taps and hope to be at 600 in the next 5 years. I am happy to see interest from younger generation keep up the good work
