View Full Version : Tie an isolated tree directly into wet line?

The wet/dry lines pass by several solitary trees and each one is nowhere near a mainline. Can I forego a manifold and tie them directly into the wet line?

The wet line will transfer no vacuum to the taphole.

But if the issue is not skipping the tree, and also not spending too much to tie it in, it should run at least as well as a gravity tap, shouldn't it?

wet lines do carry vacuum in a wet dry system. try to keep taps out of the dry line.

It will work as a vacuum tap. Every time you have an entry point, you create turbulence. It is better not to but if it is the only reasonable way to get the tap, go for it,

I would not run 1 tap into the wet/dry system. It will screw you up when trying to wash. This is why all my manifolds have valves. It is also harder to isolate leaks if you can not turn off vac to any and all mainlines coming off the wet/dry system. You put a lot of time and money into setting up a wet dry system don't ruin it.

I agree. I made the mistake of running directly in with a few lats, and regret it. Will change them someday when more important things are all done.
