Engineering Student's Survey

Hi, we are engineering students, and are doing a design project. The project is an evaporator and the goal is to make it as automated as possible.

For batch producers, those who add sap throughout the day, and complete one batch of syrup when they are out of sap, or just to tired, would benefit from an automated sap feed and auto shut-down of the fire if the sap reaches the syrup state. It would allow them to leave the evaporator for a time to do other work, such as collect more sap, have a bit of crumpets and tea, etc.

Most midsize and large producers already use auto feed and auto draw off systems.
