has anyone ever had a vaccum pump catch on fire from too much heat. Just wondering because i lease some land and he lets me put my pumps in his buildings

No I have never heard of that but why not leave the pump out side with just a roof over it. that way the cooler air and wind can help keep it cooler.

I had a surge 76 burn up one me,,,the oiler line rubber on the drive belt,,got cut off so it was dripping on the pump head,,oilers got no oil,,pump got hot enough to light the oil,,quite a fire really,,luckiley there was snow on the ground
