i have some made from pvc and the last one i made is a raquetball in a water filter housing, but you have to machine a cone shaped seat where the little nipple is that the filter fits over, i simply chucked it up in the lathe and but a cone shape inside the head so the ball is sure to roll up to the center and seal off

We need to assist in filling out the survey. The research done by UVM Proctor Research directly benefits what we love to do.
Thanks to those who have completed the survey so far....but we need a LOT more participation. Please complete the survey at

I use a water filter housing as a moisture trap, and it works great when it seals properly. Sometimes, though, it'll seat off-center because it floats around inside of the housing. Has anyone built a cage for the ball to set in so it stays centered under outlet?
I use a water filter housing with a racquet ball as well. I like it, simple and effective. The only thing I'd make sure to do different is spend the extra 5 bucks and get a clear water filter. I didn't and got an opaque one, so I have to take it apart to see if its full of sap.
