Cement grate

I seem to remember a thread about casting a refractory cement "grate" floor with holes in it for AUF, but darned if I can find it after an evening of searching:confused:Anyone remember it or possibly bookmarked it?

See if what you are looking for is in here. I searched for ice cream cones, because they used them to make the holes.

I made a expanded lath grate with angle iron and then put fire brick on top with 3/4" holes drilled through. Works really well.

ice cream cones- that was the post I was looking for. I was so focused on AUF that I ignored the AOF posts.
