Let me start by saying I will never tap early again because I hate ICE. I did an experiment with the sap that was not frozen in the pails. It was just over 4% sugar content (usually it is 2%). I melted the ice and found it to be just under .5%. I threw out the ice and sugared up the pans in record time using that liquid gold sap.

Ice is natures RO ! I have gotten as high as 8% concentrate dumping liquid out of frozen buckets

Sound like maybe a person should invest in awalkin freezer rather than and RO unit and you would have some place to put the venision later.
