Can someone explain how you attach the
bucket lid to the bucket with a hookless
spout and is it practical
Thanks

you put the spout through the hole in the bucket and you will need the roof top covers or dome shape covers that attach to the bucket and not the spout.

I've drilled a few of our spouts to be able to use the old flat covers. These spouts weren't really designed to be used with the flat lids and they're small enough already that I began to wonder if maybe I was weakening them. I tried to drill them up near the shark fin, low enough to leave enough material so the fin wouldn't just break off, but high enough to avoid drilling into the sap channel. In the end, some of the fins got broken off from the lids being moved around by the wind and some of our flat lids use larger hinge wires than others so I had to search for the small wire lids. Got to be a real pain. The long and short of it: get slip on dome type covers.
