plastic taste

My new tubing system gave my sap a plastic smell. Will this affect the taste of my syrup in any way. I can sell it as commercial grade if I have to but I will avoid it at all costs.

The first time I installed and used 30P lateral tubing my sap smelled terrible of plastic. I was assured on here that it was fine. Some said they never smelled it in their tubing. I know mine was bad smelling, but never showed up in the taste of the syrup.

This is not atypical with new tubing. The smell/taste dissipates upon boiling. You'll notice it the first sap collection of each year, and it will lessen over time.
