We tapped 103 trees Sunday! We expect to make our first boil on the new pan tonight. I have gone back to a four section pan on the Half Pint and added a float box to the rear of the pan. Very anxious to see how it all works out, I will get some pictures up soon. Anybody else in Missouri tapped yet?

We tapped 300 on the 15th and 16th. Swimming in sap, barrels overflowing, I threw my back out, and the tractor is stuck in the bottoms with my collection tank on it. Nothing like maple season in muddy Missouri! We have got about 5 gallons of syrup so far. I'm just cringing at the thought of all the sap I am losing now, though, being that I was unable to empty all my barrels yesterday!

Wow, Sounds like the flow has been a little better for you. We have collected about 200 gallons of sap so far. The new pan is working great!
