i have just finished setting up the 2x8, all ready to go for 2012.I will be using 200 buckets and an old 46 willys jeep for collecting. The rig Is a Leader with a 2x5 flue pan and a 2x3 syrup pan,pre heater with a hood and a blower and wood fired.I was wondering if anyone knows what the evaporation rate would be? thanks PACMAN

I have a 2by8 Leader with Max 6 ft. flue pan and 2ft syrup pan, Inferno Arch, hood, preheater. If I'm in GOOD hardwood and keeping right on time with fireing it the best I have gotten is 110 gph. I would say that 95 to 100 would be average with the way mine is setup. However have hit the 110 many many times. Good dry hardwood is the key with mine and crank the blower. My neighbors have a standard 2by8 with standard arch and bareback pans. I think they are around 50 gph. Hope this helps.

I should mention that My 2x8 is a classic arch from leader. The pans are stainless soldered. the front pan has 4 compartments.I was told that it is a king pan.It also has plugs to reverse the flow,I still have to talk to someone about that.I have a lot to learn, but am looking forward to it.
