Spark trap Vortex arch

What is the spark trap on the Vortex arch? Did they just make baffles or mesh?

It is a lower section that is bricked right below the stack. On a typical arch the fire box ramps up and stays close to the flu pan right up to the stack. On a vortex the fire box is a steep wall with 2 high pressure fans, then it rises close to the flu pan then in the back right under the stack it drops again to a bricked section.

Thanks, I was hoping someone could explain that. I'm modifying my arch right now and just getting some ideas. How do you like the Vortex?
