I was able to get some 1" ceramic blanket. I was wondering if that would be okay (if necessary at all) to place between my flue pan and syrup pan?

That's what I do. Without something to fill the gap you'll be sucking cold air into the flues of the sap pan.

Wow, Jmayerl - 700 buckets this year? Hope you have lots of kids!
yeah, I have some strips of leftover 2" blanket, will just trim that and use it..I emailed leader this question, but maybe someone on this site will know.
The "directions" for setting up my particular evap call for adding 1/2" rail gasket under the syrup pan and 1" rail gasket under the flue pan? Why would there be two different thicknesses>?

Lol.....nope, but we're working on our first. It would all be tubed if it was my land but its not. It also helps I only work two 24 hour shifts a week.

Maybe it has something to do with weight? I just bought 7/8" rope for mine. $32 later i hope it will works the way it should.

I got sick of buying a new piece of blanket every few years(mouse damage) and tried using pink fiberglass. Works pretty good!

Stupid question but, do you peel the paper off of the pink stuff?
