What wood happen off I would put insulation on the outside of my 250gal oil drum arch. Using brick on the inside. And would fiberglass insulation work? Thank to anyone who has any input.

Fiberglass insulation like what you insulate your home with? No, do not use that. It will not hold up at all. You need to use the archboard or the blanket-type insulation. They have heat ratings that will hold up to the intense heat your arch will generate. I guess you could put insulation on the outside, but how would you keep it installed there? Also, your insulation on the inside will insulate your arch sides from the heat. High heat burns out, or burns through steel after a while of it being exposed. The bricks do not insulate any part of the arch from heat. They are used to protect the insulation from being hit by firewood while fueling.
