lining a galvinized tank

just another quick galvinized tank question, im running around 300 taps on pipeline to my releaser, i need a tank for the releaser to dump in, i have a galvinized tank around 350-400 gallons, my question is this tank has a small amount of rust around the drain. can i line my tank with a sheet of plastic to create a barrier, keep in mind, this tank will be pumped out probably twice a day and sap will be in it minimal contact. my dealer says just use the tank, don't worry about lining it. A new stainless tank is not in the budget right now. how many guys out there still using galvinized tanks. not sure but it may be lead solder

There are alot of galvanized tanks still being used out there. I think minimizing contact time is key. The galvanized is probably better than the plastic sheeting.
