I'm new to this hobby and would like to know if there are any problems using a new, galvanized steel water tank to store my sap in while I'm gathering and boiling. I've been told that the zinc in the galvanizing may be harmful. Any ideas?

TB,
You should be good to go on this one! Many, many galvanized stock tanks used to store sap.

All I use in the woods and only stainless at the sugarhouse.

The traditional sap buckets for hanging on the spout were galvanized.
