I have been watching this forum looking for ideas. First off thanks for such a great site!

Last year I taped 8 trees and made a gallon of syrup using a glorified turkey cooker setup. It was a family project with my young kids... well it turned into wanting more. Imagine that? So this year we are expanding our operation to 20-30 trees. I have started my oil tank arch project and thanks to this site have my plans mapped out.

One thing I have looked for and perhaps over looked is where is the best place to purchase build supplies like fire brick, insulation, etc. If anyone has suggestions, I would appreciate any and all advice.

I have my tank cut into the basic shape and am going to start fabrication this week. I will post up some pictures once the fun really begins.

thanks for such a great site!

Find a local refractory supplies place. Most likely one around that will have split and full bricks. They will also have fire resistant mortar.
Hope this helps,
Joey

Hi Spartazoo - Don't know what part of Michigan You are in - but - know what you are talking about. I ended up getting mine from a hardware store - that sells woodstoves and they worked out...but - paid the top price. You making a 2'x5' from a fuel oil tank or something else? Like ya say - there are a ton of ideas on this site.....Anyway - best of luck on your project. -----Mike---
