5/16 main line run

I am looking on running a main line of 5/16 tubbing with between 20-30 taps per main line. Question is should I run a main line wire to prevent saging or just run the line real tight? What gage wire should I run? My plan is to run 2-3 main lines to a tank all on gravity. These woods will never be ran on a vac system due to the location of the bush, and the fact that I dont own the land.

Brian, how long is the run? I try to keep my 5/16 to less than 50 feet If I can help it, but I do have a section that has ten taps on it over something like 70 feet. On that run there is a 30 foot gap from one tree to the next that I do have 14 ga wire on.
