Does it matter or affect the sap flow if you "Y" two sections of 5/16 tubing together at some point before the collection tank or is it better to just run two seperate lines? There would be 10 taps per line and good slope. Any thoughts?

On gravity you can Y them together to increase natural vacuum. More taps the better (to a point) on gravity lines. On vacuum you'd lose production if you did this.

Don't use "Y"'s tubing is cheap and sap will flow much better. Just my 2 cents

I think I'd use 2 separate. If there are 10 taps per line, then add them together, thats 20 even if your y is right before the tank, 20 taps on one run of 5/16'' line is alot of sap to run through in a given day.

I was asking the same questions on a previous thread and got a lot of good input. check thread above. mine is on a steeper hill and you may not be but the point seems to be to get enough taps on a line (without overdoing it) to get some natural vacuum going. it's probably a balance that will be different for everyone depending on your trees, terrain, and other factors i dont know about yet.
