I have been asked by a friend to help dispose of some high quality water purification equipment that belonged to her sister who is now in a nursing home. I read Dr. Perkins information regarding UV purification of sap and realize that equipment made to purify water does not work as well as that made specifically for maple sap but this equipment may be an exception. It is made by Wickomar in Canada and is extremely well built of Stainless steel. Each unit has two ultraviolet bulbs and will purify 50 gallons per minute. There are three of these units which need new homes. If a sugar maker is interested in experimenting with one of these I am sure the cost will not be an issue. Original cost of these was about $2000 each and it would be a shame for them to end up in a salvage yard. If I am out of line posting this information here rather than in the Classifieds section I appologize but I could not find an appropriate catagory there.
