Last Mainline Section

Question for you.

I have 800’ of mainline up that runs perpendicular to my hill, pretty good constant grade at least 5%. I have to install another 100’ to get to my end tree in order to pick up 25 or so big maples. To pick up these maples, I will need to run a lot of lateral line. I would guess that the last maple is 200’+ away from my mainline and I would guss that I will be running at least 3 lateral lines off the mainline to tap all of them due to their location.

So here is the question. Should I buy just 100’ of mainline and terminate at the end tree?

Or

Should I buy another 400’ roll, run the 100’ to the end tree making the end tree my “bend” and continue running the remaining 300’ up the hill? I have read that you shouldn’t run mainline up hill etc so that is why I haven’t at all. If I do though, I would be saving on not having to run so much lateral line..

Thoughts?

My self I would run more mainline and keep the laterals shorter with fewer taps, especially if they are good running trees. Last thing i want to see is a lateral with more sap than it can handle creating back pressure on the upper taps. Lust my thoughts.

You can run mainline up hill. You want to keep the grade consistent though. Don't go from 45 degrees to 5 back to 45. You want a nice even slope the entire way.

and most of all money, 1 foot of mainline is cheaper then 1 foot of 3 laterals running side by side

Especially when I am running 3/4" black waterpipe. I see the prices of 30P went up

That's because the price of oil dropped!! Ha. It's likely just because they feel they can. I do like the 30P but the prices are high. Leader just wants even higher profit margins without conscience. I might even look into buying some Leader stock, they must pay good dividends and have steady growth.
