Gast rotary vane pump??

I have a question about a rotary vane pump? first off is do I need some sort of releaser for it or dose the sap pump right threw? second is im apprx 400 ft from nearest power, if I run power 400ft ontop of the ground will it be ok, or will it effect the performance of the pump?

you do need a releaser, the sap will destroy the vanes if it gets into the pump. i have a gast pump and a vac tank that is 700ft from the nearest power at our shop. the pump is at the shop and just a black plastic pipe vac line runs to the vac tank, black plastic pipe is much cheaper than wire large enough to run the vac pump that far away!
