easier to push or pull?

All things being equal, is it easier for pumps to push sap or pull sap?

Push
Most pumps can only lift (pull) so much but once they have passed the liquid thru pump it can push it a long ways. A standard well pump has a lift max of 10' or so.

Most definitely you want to push the sap. I push sap up a 70 foot hill and then over 3000 feet with a 2 inch gasoline powered pump.

Thats why submersible pumps work so well and don't need to be huge.
